Orchard Pig Charmer at the Shoreditch Diner

Well, this makes a nice introduction to my cider sense. I can’t remember trying the Orchard Pig “Charmer”, before. Though it’s the only cider available in the busy, American style diner, it’s not a bad choice, with an appropriately designer label to please the Shoreditch hipsters.

Unfortunately it was served with ice (a hangover from a few years ago when the bottled ciders outbreak made it fashionable to serve cider with ice, probably to disguise the fact that it tasted of watered down Tizer), but after a little while I chucked the ice (not on the floor) to get the real cider taste.

At 6%, this Somerset cider is nicely appley with a bit of a scrumpy kick, though not particularly unusual. A safe bet, and pleasant drinking.Image

Verdict: 3/5
